You got that off of … You got that off of Wikipedia. Rites of Spring and the collective Washington D.C. are acclaimed to have started emo, although all of the 1985 D.C. punk scene detests this. There were at least 15 bands that created this style of music, which really is nothing more than punk with lyrics about girls. The problem was, the bands from that era disbanded and reformed so much, we have no documentation expect the memory of bands that played with them, and crowd goers.
Love this song. I … Love this song. I love the fact that the original bassist was also in Christ on a Crutch (great punk band) and Brotherhood (Seattle Straight edge) in the NW. So many great melodic bands of the mid-90s came out of punk/hc (sensefield, quicksand, rival schools etc)
Great, great great. … Great, great great….!!! I have been looking for this band for so long not being able to recal the name of the band… but this terrific melody have been always stuck in my memory, couldn’t forgot. don’t know much about this band, but what I know is they are coming from the era of Seattle grunge and actually also originating from there…
they are more like … they are more like the get up kids, moneen and the casket lottery so i consider them to be(maybe) indie or something of a sort. but, you know, none of us has the right answer or answers ’cause not even the bands themselves could tell which category they belong to. let’s just enjoy what all these great bands bring us, i think that’s what music is all about.
All you people who … All you people who argue about which genre a band is are FAGS. If you only listen to a band because they are or aren’t whatever genre you d-bags make up by putting a bunch of words together, you pretty much love penis in your mouth. It’s pretty much like saying you wont listen to a band because their jeans aren’t tight enough, or you listen to a band because they have cool haircuts, go each other instead of arguing about music
