In October of 2004 Canodros S.A. signed an agreement with AEROMASTER AIRWAY S.A. for the air transportation of our passengers to and from Kapawi, this agreement allows us to offer a regular air transportation on Mondays and Fridays to our guests.
The regular route to Kapawi is: Quito – Shell - Kapawi on a Twin Otter aircraft (19 passengers capacity) property of AEROMASTER.
Below please find a brief description of the route we have been operating:  

QUITO – SHELL - KAPAWI
Between 07h00 to 11h00 (upon to the flight departure time) the passengers should be at the Airport (National Departures) where our representative will give them the boarding passes and the final information of the transportation to the lodge. This flight has a stopover in Shell, most of the cases the plane needs to take more petrol to continue with the final flight to Kapawi. The stopover will be approximately for 20-30 minutes, during this time the passengers will be assisted for our Representative Mrs. María Reyes.The final flight lands on the Kapawi's Achuar Community airstrip where our guides and native staff will be waiting to receive our guests and help them to carry their luggage. Then, passengers will have a short hike (easy pad) of 10 minutes through the village followed by a canoe ride of 15 minutes approximately upstream Capahuari river. In Kapawi an introductory speech will be provided by the resident manager on duty.
Depending on the number of passengers and weather conditions the flight could be directly (1 hour and 30 minutes), the pilots decide this cases according with the safety regulations.

KAPAWI – SHELL - QUITO
Between 08h00 to 15h00, the passengers are transported to the Kapawi Community where they will take the flight to Shell (The stopover is due to the same reasons in the route Quito – Shell – Kapawi).  

Note 1: The detailed hours could be modified because of climatic or operational conditions. It is very important for us to know in advance the name of the hotel where our guests will stay before their Kapawi excursion; our representatives will contact them in order to confirm if the passengers received the information about their trip to Kapawi. At the return of the excursion the person who handle the passengers transfers in Quito between the airport to the hotel will have to contact our representative who will advice the confirmed arrival time from Kapawi, please remember your excursion to Kapawi begins at the airport, so our company does not provide transfer service but we always can recommend travel agencies which can provide you this service.
Note 2: Just in exceptional cases due to weather conditions we will operate the Quito - Shell land route and the Shell - Kapawi air route.

WAITING TIMES
It is important to remember that the weather all over Amazon Region could change suddenly, in cases of a delayed flight due to operational or climatic conditions and the passengers can not take the flight at the programmed time, we will offer them the following activities:  
*At Shell, we will take the passengers to take short visits during the waiting time: La Casa de la Balsa (where the passengers can see artisans working), Zoo Criadero Fátima (Amazon animals rescue center). A lunch or a snack will be given depending on the delay time. This activity will be offered for passengers going in or departing from Kapawi.
*If the climate conditions do not allow the take off of the flight at the programmed day, we will offer accommodation on the Turingia Hotel or Finca El Pigual for our passengers (both hotels are very comfortable). Since that date AEROMASTER AIRWAYS S.A. has been providing air services and maintenance in the whole Latin-American market, with its subsidiaries companies including governmental institutions, tourism enterprises, transport specialized for petroleum and seismic enterprises.

Equipment to be used for the transportation to Kapawi:

AEROMASTER: Twin Otter DHC-6-300 model, twin-engine airplane with a capacity for 19 passengers with STOL capacity. It is not pressurized and don't have bathroom. (Flight Quito - Kapawi - Quito)
